Points to Consider While Buying the Best Hiking Strollers
When looking for the best hiking stroller, there are several key factors you should consider. Here are some points to keep in mind:
Durability
Hiking strollers are designed to withstand tough terrain, so you want to make sure the stroller you choose is durable and made with high-quality materials.
Maneuverability
A hiking stroller should be easy to maneuver on uneven terrain. Look for strollers with large, air-filled tires that can handle a variety of surfaces.
Suspension system
A good suspension system can make all the difference in comfort and safety on a hiking trail. Look for strollers with a shock-absorbing suspension system to provide a smooth ride for your child.
Weight and size
Hiking strollers tend to be larger and heavier than traditional strollers, but you don’t want to sacrifice too much portability. Consider the weight and size of the stroller and make sure it will be easy enough to transport to and from your hiking destination.
Storage
When hiking, you’ll likely need to carry supplies like snacks, water, and extra clothing. Look for a stroller with ample storage space to accommodate these items.
Safety features
Safety should always be a top priority when it comes to any stroller. Look for a hiking stroller with a five-point harness, sturdy frame, and other safety features to keep your child secure and protected.
Price
Hiking strollers tend to be more expensive than traditional strollers, but you don’t necessarily need to break the bank to get a high-quality model. Consider your budget and look for strollers that offer your desired features within your price range.
FAQs
What is different between this one and the other Thule glide?
The 2.0 version includes more robust wheels and tires. Additionally, the attaching technology to hold them together when folded is much more advanced.
Where can I find the product serial number and key number?
On the underside of the back axle area. There should be a serial number there.
Why is this worth $750?
This is 100% a luxury item that is absolutely not necessary for raising children. It is worth $750 to me because we walk daily, have two kids that are in the 99% for height/weight in their age group and this is one of the very few double strollers that has a metal bar/support between the kids’ seats.
All the other double strollers have the canvas stretched in between and after a while it sags and the kids lean towards each other, and it’s uncomfortable for either of them- or there is too much leaning/touching/arguing. My husband can take them BOTH running.
The old sidewalks in our old neighborhood can’t handle a normal stroller – it’s got to have shocks, air-filled wheels, and handle giant curbs. We totally could’ve made it work with another less expensive stroller, but this was worth it for us.
When we had baby #2 this was the only thing we bought because we already had all the necessities. If I could’ve found a used one I would’ve bought it. We’ve had it for 2.5 years and it’s still in perfect condition (except for the clip that keeps it closed when it’s folded down – that thing breaks). It lived outside on our porch for about a year and a half under a pecan tree and the fabric is perfect. It’s the Land Rover of double strollers. The Ford will finish the job, but this is the luxury version.
Is there going to be a mesh cover available for the double? We have a lot of bugs in my neck of the woods that I’d like to protect my kids.
The stroller comes with a mesh cover. It’s attached. On top of the mesh, there’s also a rain cover, which also protects against wind and bugs. I love this stroller!
Can you recline one seat at a time? Like one child is sleeping reclined back, and the other seat is upright?
Yes, the seats recline individually.
